Behçet's disease, namely the oculo-oral-genital triad, is an autoimmune disease mainly characterized by oral and genital ulcers and iridocyclitis. Most scholars consider it an autoimmune disease. Theories related to viral or bacterial infection, nutritional disorders, and circulatory disturbances have been refuted. Cavara et al. (1954) proposed that cases with central nervous system symptoms as the main clinical manifestation are called neuro-Behçet's disease. The mechanism of neuropsychiatric symptoms remains unclear.
