venous thrombosis
Internal Medicine / Surgery / Traditional Chinese Medicine
Venous thrombosis is the formation of thrombi caused by various factors that reduce venous return pressure in the lower leg. The disease mostly occurs in patients after lower extremity or abdominopelvic surgery, severe trauma, acute infection, pregnancy, malignant tumors, and heart disease. Reduced venous return pressure in the lower leg due to various causes, increased blood viscosity, increased platelets, and increased blood coagulability can promote platelet adhesion at sites of minor vascular endothelial injury, forming platelet thrombi, followed by fibrin deposition, enlargement of the thrombus, and occlusion of the vascular lumen.
