Hodgkin's lymphoma in the elderly is a unique malignant disease of the lymphatic system. It usually begins in one group of lymph nodes and then spreads to other lymph nodes or extranodal organs and tissues. Its histopathological features are the presence of malignant Reed-Sternberg cells and an appropriate number of cellular background. According to the appearance and the relative proportions of Reed-Sternberg cells, lymphocytes, and fibrosis, it can be divided into 4 histological types: lymphocyte-predominant type, nodular sclerosis type, mixed cellularity type, and lymphocyte-depleted type. Histological subtype is a major factor determining the patient's clinical manifestations, prognosis, and appropriate treatment.
