Writer's cramp, also known as primary writing tremor, is the most common action tremor in adults, especially characterized by tremor occurring during writing, making writing difficult. This condition is clinically common and refers to a 5-8 Hz hand tremor that occurs when the patient writes or performs writing movements, without other functional impairments. In some patients, the tremor is not entirely limited to writing movements and may also occur during other similar tasks or when using similar tools. Therefore, some have proposed that writer's cramp can be divided into task-induced writer's cramp and posture-sensitive writer's cramp.
