Prolonged coma

Internal Medicine / 康复医学科

Prolonged coma refers to a condition in which the patient remains in a comatose state for a long period after injury (lasting more than 3 months), losing normal responses to the external environment. It may manifest as apallic syndrome, akinetic mutism, or vegetative state. Because this is a very special comatose state, it has also been called the "syndrome of seeking a name."
