Gestational myocardial infarction is a rare complication of pregnancy. This type of myocardial infarction differs from other types because it not only endangers the life of the pregnant woman but also poses a threat to the fetus. The main clinical manifestations of gestational myocardial infarction include: chest pain during pregnancy, dyspnea, peripheral edema, jugular venous distention, and displaced apex beat. Symptoms and signs similar to the physiological changes of normal pregnancy may be observed in gestational myocardial infarction. Due to the relationship between the amount and location of infarcted myocardial damage, many symptoms and signs observed clinically and on physical examination may be similar to those of normal pregnancy.
