Cerebral vasospasm refers to the narrowing of the vascular lumen and the formation of blood flow eddies caused by atherosclerotic plaques in the internal carotid artery or vertebrobasilar artery system. When the eddy current accelerates, it stimulates the vessel wall, causing vasospasm and transient ischemic attacks; when the eddy slows down, the symptoms disappear. However, some scholars believe that due to the special structure of cerebral vessels, spasm is not prone to occur.
