Adams-Stokes syndrome (Adams-Stokes syndrome), namely cardiogenic cerebral ischemia syndrome, refers to sudden onset of severe, life-threatening bradyarrhythmia or tachyarrhythmia that causes a sharp decrease in cardiac output within a short period, resulting in severe cerebral ischemia, loss of consciousness, and syncope. Adams-Stokes syndrome is a clinical syndrome of acute cerebral ischemia attacks caused by sudden changes in heart rate. This syndrome is unrelated to postural changes and is often caused by sudden severe tachycardia or bradycardia leading to syncope.
